The Week in Review
This week was particularly spectacular. Ruby and I were honored to stand beside Kara in the planning and design of her wedding. It occurred to me that more women than not (in my experience) are simply fascinated by all things "wedding." Similar to the hope and potential of a new life born, perhaps a wedding is the hope and potential of a superior worldly love and devotion? A mysterious journey taken by two, inevitably bursting with life's greatest joys and tragedies? One of too-few occasions we have to peruse and employ the most exquisite fabrics, jewels, and flowers?!
Is this fascination inborn to women or filtered down? Why does my young daughter, born intriguingly prewired to adore pink, try on this event in her mind as throughly as the rest of the women in the room?
A road trip to Los Angeles followed, where we rocked down to Electric Avenue
and then we took it higher, to the Electric Lodge to catch Leonix Movement Theater Ensemble's sold out presentation of Crossing The Bridge.
The show was extraordinary, intimate, fantastic. Extremely well executed. If you will be in Seattle or Indianapolis in the next two weeks, I recommend making the time.
The journey home was as lovely as the time spent there.
